COMPETITION SCENT DOG TRIALS

Our Competition Scent Dog Trials are conducted with the utmost credibility and closely simulate real-life operational searches. Our writers, Judges & Trial Managers all possess City & Guilds Assured Credentials as Handlers and Instructors ensuring that our Trials are highly reputable and trustworthy.

Our aim is to give you and your dog the best experience we can that is fun and relaxed.

With Competition Scent Dog Trials it’s all about the search! All trials are done as a whole search, not as individual Elements and time allocated is for a whole search. 

There are 10 Levels and two types of Trial at each level;

Pro Trial - Advertised as such, competitors know in advance the two out of four elements the trial consists of (Building, Route, Area, Vehicle) 

Alert Trial - Advertised as such, competitors won’t know in advance the elements of search involved. Competitors will just be given a location and start time. Generally a scenario based trial. 

During our trials you will be judged on;

We are here to support your training & trials journey. Although winning a trial is fabulous, we also put high value on a clean sweep.

A clean sweep shows that you and your dog have worked well together and found all of the hides, it’s a job well done and what we train for.

WANT MORE EXPERIENCE?

You may run as NOT FOR COMPETITION (NFC) at our Trials. We want you to be confident and to learn. Running NFC can be at the Level you are working towards and one level above. This means if you are working towards your level one, you may enter a level two NFC. Once you have completed a level you cannot run in that level as NFC.

The majority of our Trial Managers & Judges are also trainers, please reach out and keep an eye out for upcoming workshops. These are highly beneficial to learn line handling skills and search systems
